my heart radio ♥

Controlled chaos. I like random things and usual things. Penguins, squirrels, baby animals, love notes and random acts of kindness make me happy. Abrupt changes, uncontrollable events, and the dark make me anxious. Some days I like people, some days I don't. I bounce around like that, and it's led to some interesting results ♥

I'm also working on improving myself to become more fit and a happier, healthier person. I'm tracking all that here

anonymous asked: “And what happens when sperm and egg collide? Oh wait. that’s right. you get pregnant with a baby.” It is NOT a baby until 8-9 months in the pregnancy. “You can spew all you want about how some people believe it isn’t alive yet.” Dude, this is not a matter of belief. It is NOT alive until it has a heartbeat and basic bodily functions. It’s not ME, it is basic SCIENCE. “I am one of the many who do believe it’s the beginning of life.” SCIENCE. SAYS. FETUS. Okay? SCIENCE. Not just opinion. SCIENCE.

Science changes so frequently it is impossible to keep up with everything they say today versus everything they say a week from now. You’re entitled to your opinion but I do not agree.

Science, you guys, it moves SO FAST that there’s no way we can know the difference between a ball made up of several hundred cells and a full grown baby.

haha science ignorance makes me laugh. I’m actually taking a course in developmental biology (the study of cell division, differentiation, and migration etc, sometimes known as embryology) and this shit does not change weekly. we just learn more and more. I will start taking anti-choicers seriously when they can talk to me about teratogens, cell differentiation, the role of surfactant in premature birth, organogenesis and gestational thresholds.

I’ll admit that the mechanism by which a single cell divides and goes through all the stages to become a functioning multicellular organism is beautiful and precise, but that humans are not the only organism to go through such changes.

true fact: all vertebrate embryos at early stages of development look similar, almost indistinguishable. I’d like to show a picture of a mouse embryo and a human embryo at the early stages of development, unlabeled, and see which “is a life”.

I am a scientist. I am pro-choice. I am female. I want to be a parent. I am Christian. I can be all of these things at once and be at peace with myself.
